Alpha – the developer that has been responsible for designing and developing the commercial village precinct at the northern end of the Yarra Bend site, has sold their interest to Time & Place.

Time & Place see themselves as a ‘new generation’ developer. Recent projects include the Queensbridge building in Southbank – a 62 storey residential and commercial development – and Victoria Place, a 10 storey commercial development in East Melbourne.
The Queensbridge development incorporates community space, including a sports court.
We hope this shows their experience in community infrastructure as a great investment in people and place.

APMAG understand Time & Place wishes to change aspects of the current planning application for the Village precinct, and so will need to engage Yarra Council. APMAG will take a keen interest in the community facilities, public spaces and broader environmental principles and how they improve under the new management.

While this is a significant change, its not entirely surprising. Alpha have been invested in the Yarra Bend project for some time, laid significant ground work, and could see it as time to ‘cash in their chips’ and move to the next project. While the APMAG committee have not always agreed with the Alpha team, we found plenty of common ground and we have always appreciated their vision, an open communication channel and constructive conversations.
We look forward to getting to know Time & Place, and continuing to build for an engaged community.
